Cooptravel.co.uk has become the first independent travel company to use leading mobile phone technology to provide customers with information by text message while on holiday.
The new service called CT Mobile will see subscribing customers sent information on events, restaurants and weather reports. Customers will also receive automated ‘thank you for booking’ and ‘welcome home’ text messages and free destination information such as local currency or emergency numbers.
Flight delays can also be sent across, while it is hoped services such as car park booking will be available in the future.
